The late winter and early spring of 2010 will see a slew of hotly anticipated PS3 games arriving on shelves. Fans of any genre, including action, adventure, RPG, racing, and even thrillers will find something to spend their hard-earned cash on in the coming months.

Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is a Playstation 3-exclusive from Quantic Dream, a French game developer. An early, limited version of the game has been sent to reviewers, and early reports indicate that the game will be more than worth the wait. Heavy Rain could best be described as an interactive thriller, in which the player controls one of four characters through an environment that plays out like a dramatic film. The game is all about the choices that your make, moral and otherwise, and the ways that your decisions affect the world around you. Heavy Rain arrives February 23, 2010.

Final Fantasy XIII

The latest installment in the Final Fantasy franchise is one of the most eagerly anticipated yet. Final Fantasy XIII builds on the series' reputation for incredibly deep storylines, cutting-edge graphics, and an intricate combat system that keeps players thinking about their tactics and strategies before even encountering an enemy. Similar to an MMORPG, Finaly Fantasy XIII offers freeform world exploration, but not before familiarizing layers with story and controls through an extended linear section that could've been a small game of its own. Final Fantasy XIII finally arrives in North America on March 9, 2010.

God of War III

Any Playstation fan is familiar with the God of War franchise, the series that its Kratos against the Gods of Greek mythology. The story of God of War III takes Kratos from Mt. Olympus to Hell on a journey of revenge. Game play, as usual, is a combination of advanced combo attacks and careful puzzle solving. So what's different from the previous games in the franchise? First of all, the world feels bigger and more detailed, with texture resolutions of four-times what we saw in God of War II. Battles are more epic, with more enemies on screen. As with any God of War game, GoW III is a polished and complete package that will only be available for the PS3. The game arrives on March 16, 2010.

Gran Turismo 5

The latest game in the ever-popular Gran Turismo series has been hyped, delayed, demoed, previewed, and hyped some more. It appears that Gran Turismo 5 has recently been given a release date of March, at least in Japan. It's still unknown just when the game will see daylight in North America. So just what are we waiting for? Simple. The most realistic and immersive driving experience ever created for a gaming console, as well as more than 850 fully customizable cars. You can currently play a time trial demo of Gran Turismo 5 on the Playstation Network for a brief taste of what's to come. One recommendation: purchase a racing wheel if you plan to play Gran Turismo 5 seriously. Driving with a tiny joystick won't do this one justice.
