Microsoft Kinect sells 2.5 million units in 25 days

A couple weeks back I mentioned that Microsoft had sold a million of the new Kinect devices in the first ten days it was on the market. Microsoft has now announced the numbers for sales of Kinect modules the first 25 days it has been on the market and sales have not slowed.. Microsoft reports that so far there have been 2.5 million Kinects sold in the first 25 days of availability. Microsoft says that the Kinect is now available at 60,000 retail locations in 38 countries.. "We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect, and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand," said Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft.
